Haven't fished the Edisto lately, but I know the little bit of rain we just got has brought the river up a bit - it's no where near high, but at least there's some new water in it. Maybe the extra water will turn some fish on for you. Good luck - and let us know how you do!

My limited experience with the upper river says that this time of year the best bite comes early morning. Bring some shrimp and worms and the little channels shold cooperate. I've heard reports that the flatheads can be caught all winter if you can come up with a live bait and get it into a deep hole.

As always, let us know how it turns out.

I sent you a PM. Since I'm in Charleston, the "upper" river for me is probably the "lower" river for you coming from the other direction in Orangeburg.

I've been fishing off Wire Road a few times (on private land, sorry, no help there), not far from the Orangeburg County line. If you can find an access point up there with a good hole (any sharp corner will have deep water in the outside bend), you should do OK.
