Turlock Lake. I might try it out tomorrow. I took dogs out there yesterday to run and its real low and an old guy I meet said there was nice cats out there. I'm going to be in back by the inlet.

    Anyone been out there?

Ill let you guys know. I don't have my expectations up to high. The water is real low and cold! Hopefully I'm surprised with some fish!

No luck at all. We only fished for about 2 hours and I didn't expect much luck. The water was low and a little murky. I tried some stink bait on 2 poles for cats and 2 poles with power bait for trout and also played around with a few lures. No bites!

Having 4 water dogs with me probably didnt help the fish bite!:smile2: we took our labs out for a run/swim and I figured I would try to catch a few fish at the same time. Didn't work, but still a good time to be on the water and got a few great sunset pics!

Thanks for the report. Maybe the fish were holding up in another area, or maybe it was the dogs.

Me and my Grandfather used to fish the inlet in a aluminum boat many moons ago. We did pretty good there for trout. Especially when the water was up. But never have pulled a cat out of there.

I would think cats would stay away from the inlet at Turlock. That water is pretty cold flowing into there. Need to find a hole near the front side dam would be my guess.

Any cats I have seen at turlock lake have been small. I catch panfish and some bass and trout there once in a while.
