I fish Lake Murray often for stripers and cats down close to the dam. I catch plenty of channel cats and bullheads, but never blues. I hear they can be caught farther up the lake past Dreher Island. Can anyone confirm this and give me a general area. I am guessing since I never see any talk about Lake Murray, the blues must be few and far between. If you are catching them, what is the average size.

9 to 12 lbs is the average size.Real fat and healthy.Like I told you before its untapped and needs to be took very good care of because its got alot of potential. Most people on the BOC will help preserve it but theres alot of veiwers that want. They (blues) are there(Murray) just as they are in just about every major reservoir there is in SC.Your gonna have to go try it.
