I have had the worst luck lately catching fish. I have tried multiple spots, multiple baits etc and nothnig is working lately. I know we are way low on rain around here, maybe that has something to do with it? I have fished a spot that I have caught many fish at before, have tried chicken liver, bluegill goldfish etc, no luck at all. I havn't even got a descent bite any of my last 5 times fishing. Yesterday the Great Miami River looked like the Great Miami Creek, and the Whitewater river was less then half the normal size.

Do fish move someplace else when the rivers are this low?

So you guys think it is the spawn? That could be. Does lack of rain keep cats away?

So when should us newbies expect them to come off spawn and bite again?

    Thanks

I am going to change my luck this weekend. I can see the big one on my hook now!

I figure an entire day of fishing, say 12 hours or so without a single bite is still 100 times better then the best day at work!

We fished the Muskingum all night last mon night, Ramrod caught a 32lb and a 15lb flathead. Skip landed a 20lb flathead and we all caught quite a few in the 5 to 10lb range.

Sounds like you have to be at the right place and time.
