Heading up tomorrow evening. Any words of wisdom? Is the top end still the hot area or have the fish spread out yet? Or is the bite completely off for the spawn?

We went a couple of days ago from 8am til about lunch time. We caught a few but nothing larger than about 5 lbs. Bite was slow for us. There were a fair number of boats up toward Cedar Creek area. Didn't see them catch much either.

Bill, try drifting the mouth of Taylors Creek and Wateree Creek, good numbers of fish being caught there, drifting is gonna be tough this weekend with it being a Holiday weekend. If you decide to anchor,go on up in the river run after dark and fish near the sand bars heading to shallow water, you can also try the area by the rock wall.It usually produces afew fish,Use a variety of cut bait including bream, white perch and gizzard shad.Good Luck and be careful out there, the boat traffic will be wild unless some rain sets in.
