Anybody seen a carp like this?

    We were fishing in an irrigation canal and caught this carp, never seen one this dark! What is it?

    I never saw one like that myself but according to carp site thingy its a black carp.....lol... Congats on that catch.....

    it's a black carp.. smaller cousin to the grass carp and mirror carp.. we catch them alot in ND..

    Its probably the water maybe a lot of iron or something like that

    I know growing up spending all my summers in the northern water of Minnesota all the fish are dark. the water up there is full of iron.

    I have caught several carp like that. Don't know the actual name for it.

    Thats a common carp but just in a darker color. like rock bass carp can change to a darker color to help them blend in and feel safer. but sometimes it is defected and changes by itself. so you just caught a darker colored common nothing special

    Thats a new one on me, but nice to catch something different every now and then. Any carp is fun to catch.

    Looks like a ghost carp.
    Regular Cyprinus Carpio, just different color phase.

    We have caught a lot of carp around here, just nothing like that one!! It was cool though!! Havent had any luck with the catfish for awhile, gonna try again this weekend if the weather holds out!!

    i got a few like that out of the ohio river they are never really all that big though put it on a hook and see if the catfish like him!

    IVE SEEN COMMON CARP GET DARK LIKE THAT. I KNOW ITS NORMAL FOR MANY FISH SPECIES TO SORT OF CHANGE COLORS DUE TO SURROUNDINGS STRESS DIET ETC. FISH-ON-BROTHERS,,,,FISH-ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
