Anybody know about solid state outboards

    I have a guy at work that wants to sell me a sportfisher 700 solid state outboard motor, can you buy parts for them.

    Sounds like something Sears put out. You got a brand name?

    I was thinking sears but Kmart a line of sport something. the sear was made by different manufactures. you may need model and serial #'s.
    with these you can find out the year and all info.

    Yes, at least a brand and model number would help, but ... I'm thinking that solid state must refer to the ignition which nearly all have now anyway ... a CDI is a solid state ignition and they've been pretty bullet proof for years.
