I have this same rifle which I use for small game hunting. I have a 4 power scope on it and use CCI hollow points in it. I've owned this rifle for over 20 years and it still shoots a 1/2" group at 100 yards.

I had a Ruger stainless steel Super Single Six single action pistol with an interchangable .22/.22 magnum cylinder.

That was the BEST little pistol!! (It was stolen from my truck 15 years ago)

Couldn't be beat for accuracy...I used to take it squirrel hunting...or pop rabbits from out the window of the combine as we'd cut beans.

I think anyone that steals is really bad.

I always pushed thieves out of the army, nobody likes a stealer.

I have a Marlin 22 mag. Bolt action. clip. 4 power scope. I bought it to coon hunt with. Some of the cottonwood trees are tall around here. Its shoots great up to 100 yards. I have had it fore about 20 years. Never had a problem of any kind with it.

Hadn't previously heard of the new rifle. But I do know that the Savage 110 rifle is one hell of a good one.

It stands up to the high dollar rifles when it comes to accuracy.

I had a 7 mm rem mag. 110 at one time. It was one mean SOB on these Kansas Whitetails...but it would absolutely shred a smaller deer like a yearling buck or a doe.

I'm primarily a meat hunter when it comes to deer...I figure if I get the opportunity to pop a big boy...so be it...but I'll take a doe or smaller buck just the same.

Don't know many that wouldn't. Let's just hope CPR doesn't jump over to deer hunting!!

    I traded the 7 mag in on a Browning A Bolt .280.

I've killed more deer than CWD with that .280...I love it.

I know this doesn't pertain much to the subject at hand....but once again...you won't sacrifice quality with a Savage product.

Brian I have a Ruger 77/22mag and it is a sweet shooting rifle.I would say however that 22mag is NOT enough gun for hogs no matter what the rifle. Those Savages are nice and the Kimbers nicer ; you pays your money and you takes your chances. :smile2:

A buddy of mine has a Ruger .17 HMR bolt action...with a Leupold 2x7 VX II.

It's a nice little flat shooter. We were head shotting coyotes at 150 yards last fall with it.

It's a tack driver...but ya better be prepared to make a fatal shot...it doesn't pack a whole lot of wallop.

the next best rifle or pistol you can get is a .22 hornet or the .17 remington. they will nock down almost anything at a close enough range. they work wonders on the coyotes and coons here in utah. iv even shot a deer with my .22 hornet but you have to shoot them in the neck.

Brian, I have a Marlin model 883 22 magnum. I've killed a couple of hogs with it some cyotes and a ton of squirrels. I have a leupold 3X9X40 mounted on it and it's a good all around gun. Shoot a hog behind the ear with it and it will drop. It will kill a hog shot between the eyes unless it's a big hog then it may not penatrate the skull.

Also have a Ruger New Model single six revolver that I've killed a few goats with. It would probably kill a hog but I wouldn't hog hunt with it. Also a good snake gun with rat shot. It has 2 cylinders that came with it. One shoots shorts and the other magnums.

Don't know if either is what your looking for but they are both good dependable guns.
