I am sorry to post this here, but I have posted in N.M. section and it seems fisherman are scarce there. Anyways, I am going to Ruidoso next weekend and I am trying to find out how the fishing is there. Also, I have been told the Forrestry service there has made it to where most of the woods are off limits due to fire danger, which includes Bonitta lake. Anyone have any info. they can provide? Thanks in advance.

i can't remember the name of the lake, it seems like it was something stone, and it is at the edge of town. we caught a lot of trout there. if the lake is low you will need a heavier weight than you are used to using for trout. there was a fishing store on the main street that had fishing reports on a chalk board in the store. it is mainly a fly fishing store but the guy could tell you a lot. i hope this helps.
