I just bought a 2003 mercury 2 stroke series 200 xl. Has anyone had any experience with this motor?
Not familiar with that particular engine. My boat has a 2005 Mercury 115 on it and it runs like a champ. I have no complaints about Mercury.
CJ, I've been running my 91 Merc 75 which I bought new, no problems what so ever, did have the impeller changed a couple of time, it's got almost 3000 hours on it according to the hour meter. It also is oil injected, oil tank mounted on the motor.
Jim, 3000 hours is 125/24 hour days. Thats alot of drivin!
I think you should spend less time drivin and more time fishin.:smile2:
Sounds like she has been faithful though. Id keep her.
Now what is this going to attached to?
I love my Mercury, its a '73 200 20hp and runs like a top.
2009 Procat, just orderd the other day.
Sounds like a good investment
Let me be one of the first to say congrats on the new boat. I know she will have a great home and a livewell full of fish! Now it is time to think about names.
Any name with-out the word swamper in it...
That is not right. CJ is a great driver, we had a fun time getting back to the ramp at Clinton at the first of the year and he did great. I had no worries other than the freezing cold water coming over the front and sides of the boat more woried about freezing than flipping the boat. But in the end it was a great day of fishing and BS'n
On the name thing how about Hawgzilla
Lord i apologize for making fun of CJ's driving abilitity and all the little pigmy's in NewGuinea...Amen!:smile2:
Thats good Tom!!!
That was another rough ride.
I did say a good drive, but not a dry one. The ride would had been better if some one else would had been out beside us in there boat that day. But the call was nice, warning us of the ride back.
CJ when your boat come's in let us know so we can come over and drool over it.
Congrats, that is one heck of a rig.....! If you need a partner the 1st time out let me know:big_smile:Or the 2nd-3rd-4th:....!
Congrats CJ. That will be one heck of a rig. I know you will put it to good use.
Kyle, if you use 17 years in your computation, it figures out to a little over two hours a day, that sound like more fishin?:smile2: And almost is 2706hrs.:smile2:
How about U-235? Make you feel like a submarine captain! And it would be
a nuclear submarine, too!
How about naming it after one of those unsinkable ships, like the bismark or titanic?
Then again, there's always the "Thresher" also used to be a nuclear sub.
