ok hi guys I was wonderin there is this lake a ways from my house and all it has are small trout in the 9-15inches and perch from about 4-6inches any recommendations for a rod and reel and line that would make fishing for them a little more of a fight? I have and old zebco 33 with a zebco rod that is 4'6"

i would go with a pure ultra-light rig... that would give you a really good fight... thats all i use when i go for bluegills and small fish.

you can get a really good ultra-light setup at walmart for cheap

You can get a Shakespeare microspin or microcast at wally world for less than 20 dollars and it would be perfect. Comes with 4 lb test line. I have many of them.
