Penn Jigmaster 500 will do the job very nicely and handle any thing you want.

Ambassadeur 7000 or BG10000. Has lots of capacity, level wind, smooth casting, and reliable as it gets.:) They are a little more spendy than the Penn Jigmaster Gator mentioned & Penns are also great reels.

Recently I have been looking at a Penn 320LD. It holds 320 yards of 20 pound test, so it will hold a decent amount of 30 to 40, probably. The lever drag makes it easy to adjust it during a fight, and I love Penn drag systems, since they specialize in saltwater. Great for big cats in my opinion.

As an alternative I recommend the Pflueger Trion 66 Round Baitcast reel with 50lb Power Pro. The Trion is rated med saltwater and heavy freshwater.;)

Go with an Abu 7000, you will not be disappointed. If you need lots of line on the spool check out 80lb power-pro its only got an 18lb mono diameter.

An Abu 7000 or Daiwa Sealine SH47. 30-50 lb. braided regardless.

I would go with a penn 320 gti or you can can get 2 penn 209s for the same price as 1 gti. the gti's are a lot nicer but me personally, i would go with 2 209s. The 209s are really nice reels and they wouldnt have the slightest problem catching a monster. But if you want a lot nicer reel go with the gti's.
