I was thinking of taking a personal day tomorrow and either fishing for crappie or jumping on the Missouri river for some bluecats. I haven't seen what the river is doing, but I suppose it is rising with a lot of debris. Decisions, decisions. Maybe I'll do both!!

What area of the river do you fish? Around Kansas City, there's a lot of debris, but the river's falling. Should be clear by the weekend, and I'm going to try to be out there.

I'm gonna try Weldon Springs tomorrow Scott. I know there is a good bit of drift but usually can find places to fish.

I fish around the Rocheport, mo area which is about 15 miles west of Columbia, MO. I'm dying to be out on the river chasing bluecats. I'm speculating that the shad may be hard to come by. I do have a few frozen skipjacks, but fresh is so much better. Where would you guys suggest this time of year?

With the water up I would think you might find shad in the creeks. The drift and trash will push a lot of fish up creeks. Worth a try huh?

River is going to be up and down over the next couple of days. It's supposed go down a couple of feet by today and back up another couple of feet by Sunday. I checked out the ramp a Lexington last night and the river is waaaaay up. Not nearly as trashy as I expected. I'm heading to Chicago for work right now (I'm actually sitting in KCI now) but I'll be back Saturday night and I think Robert and I are putting in at Lexington Sunday. I took Monday and Tuesday off work as well. Oh, and by the way, if you're using the free wifi at KCI and just type in www.catfish1.com in your web browser, the site is blocked as Porn by the airport wireless network. I had to go to google, search for the BOC, and come into the site through the gallery. Wierd.....

Went out this morning and it was pretty much a waste of time!! A WHOLE LOT of debris floating down river not to mention the ICEBERGS!! The only thing that was good, I was able to catch plenty of bait with only three throws of the throw net.

Water is running muddy with debris. Hopefully it will quiet down some in 3-4 days
