Is anyone fishing for American Shad?If so,what color water such as Black, yellow, etc.?

Also,If you are catching them, what are they biting on?

Thanks.I loved to fish for them every year in the past, and still like to hear from others even if I can not fish. They do fight well on medium to lighter tackle.

Thanks again,I love you Brothers and Sisters.peewee

I hope to go out for them this year. Using flutter spoons and Shad darts.

We are catching Hickory shad pretty good in the James River at Richmond VA. I caught my first American this year yesterday. Every year we are catching more and more Americans. I hope they keep coming back stronger and stronger to the point where we can legally keep a few. I do love shad roe about two times a year.

I catch them on small runner hooks. So when the run i cast a ultra light rod out there and reel in fast and snagg em'.
