anyone doin good on these two resivours (salamonie or missennewa)???
I fished Salamonie all night two weekends ago. Caught three overnight. The bite didn't start until sunrise though. Got another six within a couple hours then. They bit best towards the upstream end of the reservoir.
And man, I tell you, I have NEVER seen so many shad! They were like popcorn all over the place. And my sonar was sometimes all blacked out from all the shad. Little ones, the hatchlings... about two inchs long.
I think this time of year is tough for catfish because of all those easy pickings. Small shad die off so easily.
Me and Tim B. fished the tailwaters of Mississisenwa Saturday night and never even had the first bite...We must have seen close to 1000 carp...but not cats.
