I have been known to tree a few as well. Not as many now that I am old and lazy. I still have a couple of hounds but we are running out of good places to hunt here in my immediate area which kind of takes the fun out of it. I love to hear a good hot race and then one hammering the tree.

I'm out 3-4 nights a week in November. I just tend to do the walking and shooting. My dog usually finds them for me. My other task is to catch him when a big coon takes off down a tree and he also jumps out. Its usually quite a sight and an arm sore.

Good to hear from all of you, coon hunting is one of my favorite things to do after the sun goes down. I love to see a good dog that knows how to work a track and really tree hard.

Used to hunt with blueticks all the time, but got out of it because of work and lack of places to hunt around here.

I love coonhunten n the river swamp down here in florida .
We did most of our hunts from a boat and ended up swimming more than once to get to where the hounds are.
Lots of snakes and gators to play with kinda kept ya on your toes . Hunted summer and winter.
We had treen walker and red ticks and one humongus black and tan plott cross that owned the tree and everthing in 15 yards had to muzzle jim to get the coon home .I liked to shake out the coon but we carried a 410 for hi trees .
I had to give up connen when I guit drinking ,It was just tooo painful.
But I still have the memories and the scars .
