Hrcats and myself fished the scioto tonight..Skunked again.

I think I have been skuked 4 times in a row, and the turtles are terrible, they are hitting our baits within minutes.

Have tried different spots, shallow and deep water, just cant get away from the turtles,

My boy hooked into three small flats Monday night behind Kmart. The biggest was only seven pounds though.

I think you need me to come down there and reverse the Scioto Curse. I can perform the ceremony easily. I use beer instead of holy water though.

I'll see if i can get Gary (ryang) to come down there with me. He's a renowned specialist in "turtle exorcisms". He'll "baptise" those pesky bait buggers with a big batch of his special "anti-snapper" elixir. The ingredients are top secret but when he speaks in tongues he keeps repeating the word "sugardale".

Jack, I have found up here on the GMR that if your into turtles, try to get your bait off the mud and into the gravel or rock bottom, that helps and then into more current is even better. Buuuuuut......when there is hardly any current and the turtles are where the fish ought to be, its gonna be a long night with ahardly any action, its obvious the turtles move into the fish feeding lanes when there are no fish around.

Good luck man, the fight is about to begin!!!

That spot is on the verge of being fished to death. I almost never bother with driving there anymore, waste of gas. It's so hard to get there first.

What you need to do is start promoting Turtle Only Pay Lakes! Talk up the taste of good fried turtle meat and how much fun they are to catch. Heck before you know it, they would be illegally harvested and sold to the pay ponds and wouldn't bother your bait any more.

From what i heard this thread needs to be reopened. Only this time it was Mellon with Jack not me. I think he spent something like 10hrs fishing and not one fish caught! It won't be long and Jack will be posting about catching another 40 or 50lb fish and how much he loves fishing!!!

Yea I feel bad for Jack this time. He had been fishign since 6 AM, not a bite. I got there around 3 PM and fished until 6 PM, which saw me get a call about a family emergency. I had to leave at that point in time. I belive the grand total was... let me count all the true catfish hits.... hmm... ZERO!!!

It didn't do too much for my burnout, but it was nice to catch up w/ Jack for a couple hours.
