    .....but just as dismal.

Everything was right. We found plenty of goldeye in the first 30 minutes and fished 6 different spots. I've given up on finding shad. The water is still high, covering the dikes...but just barely. Found plenty of slack water and marked a ton of fish -- most of which I'm sure were carp, but there were certainly plenty deep right on the bottom that looked like kitty's. I really can't tell the difference right now.

Well, long story short, we didn't register a single bite. The fog got pretty gnarly, so we just decided to give up and watch football. Maybe next week will be better when the water goes down. Who knows?

It was a pleasant day on the river nevertheless. Nothing was freezing at least.

Did you fish the Missouri Greg? What was the water temp? Was there any dykes out at all.

Fished STL. Water temp was 33 degrees. Most dikes that are usually showing are 8-11 feet under water still.
