The last two trips to my "honey hole" have been great! It has produced 91 pounds of flathead cats! (A while back I made a post when I got a 40, 10 and a 6 pounder in about 2 1/2 hours). Tonight I went back there for a couple hours just as some rain showers moved in, and I got this 35 pounder and a decent size channel cat. This flathead laid there and chewed on the bait for a lonnnnnng time before it even made the clicker go off. (The rod would bounce a bit, the clicker would make two or three clicks) Finally, I gently picked up the rod and held it for a couple of minutes before I felt some weight. Thinking that it was probably just a turtle, but not certain, I drove the hook home and the fight was on!! It was 44 inches and just a bit over 35 pounds. We let her lay and rest on a rope stringer for a while before holding her up for photos, then she cruised off in great shape!
