another newbie ? releasing the catch....

    Lets say i catch a big one, getting it on the boat, taking the picture, now its time to release it.

    How can i do this without hurting the fish?

    use a net when landing the fish. try to do as little harm to the fish as possible when removing the hook. some people ware gloove so that the fish does not come in contact with ur bare hands. fish have a protective coating on its skin{slime}this keeps the fish moist. Take ur pics as soon as possible. dont just throw this fish back, try to revive it by moving though the water so its gills are releaved, it will probably be wore out from the fight and lack of air so take it easy till it comes around. welcome to the Boc by the way, happy fishin.

    catfish are pretty tough, i just put em in the water, hold their tail and they'll swim away...
