This is what I have heard called a sneaky pete or a tandem rig.If used around current with Live or just dead (fresh) shad it does work all though I havent tried it with circles yet it should work with circles. When using whole fresh dead shad they will flutter in the current tricking the old flatheads.

What you want to do is make up some rigs using whatever you normaly use for your leaders then add a second hook about 8 inches or so from the first hook (length depends on the bait size your using). Most of mine are around 8 inches.

First hook your shad either thru the bottom jaw or thru the eyes (can even bridle as mentioned in other posts) take the second hook back about halfway and run it thru under the skin then right back out leaving the eye and hook exposed.

Anyhow I made a picture but remember I am no artist lol.

Looks like a great set up, though you may want to check the regs in your state.
I know here we are allowed only one hook per line unless it is a lure.
Now there are ways around that, by say adding a bead above the hook. Now you have a lure.
A lot of the enforcement of these rules is determined by the way the officer interprets the law.

"Nice looking set-up", I have to give that one a shot up here in the California Delta for the Channels when I use a hold Shad or Bluegill.
