The night was very slow last night with only six bites which amounted to two lost fish and and a 5 1/2lb channel cat. So we decided to take a nap and wait for an alarm, (baitclicker,) and it wasn't till 5:00 this morning did one my baitclickers go off. I picked up the pole waited to see if she was on there she tugged once then it felt like she came towards me. As reeled up the slack I felt nothing but dead weight, before I could get the hook set she swam to a snag. So I fed a little line and before it went slack she took off again. I set the hook and after a long fight landed my new P.B. 30lbs 3oz. She was caught on a large live longear sunfish, in about 5ft of water. So the long boring night ended up paying off.

Andy seems like you should go to bed early and set an alarm clock super early and get a nites sleep. Congrats on the fish.

Nice fish! I'd wait all night for one like that! I must not have waited long enough last night, I only caught one about 9 pounds. I get LOTS of fish that swim towards me too, most of them actually. The one last night never even pulled on the clicker, just bounced the pole a little and came straight to me. Guess I'll have to stay later next time :embarassed:
Good job on the fish, that's a NICE one!

Nice job Andy! Brecken & I thought about hitting the water at 3am and fishing until 9-10am. That may be the pattern to fish right now!

I pay attention to stuff like this, so I'm gonna step outside the box, get up at 2 am and hit the river... see what happens.

Sounds like a plan let us know how it goes. Isn't going and getting new batteries for the camera bad luck. You better leave that camera at home so you can catch more! :smile2:
