Got my first ever blue this past weekend at the Rising Sun tourney... only 8.2 pounds, but it still counts.... will have a pic up later, once I get 'em from RamRod...

After a summer of not being able to buy a channel cat, I did manage to catch my first flattie and now my first blue... guess I can't complain too much, huh?

That was the total - the one blue, for 8.2 pounds... we finally gave up about 1:00 on Sunday after not even getting a bite... was surprised to see we weren't the only ones pulling out early, tho!

oh well - was quite an experience just being there...

After 1:00 PM it seemed like they shutoff like a light switch on both days.

Either way, it definitely a good time being down there. Took home a niiiiiiiiiiiiice sunburn :smile2::smile2::smile2:

    Congratulations on your first blue!

Jerry congrats on the first blue. Tourneys can be enjoyable even if the bite is slow. WTG.

    1. At the end of Day 1 the winning weight was 145 pounds (or thereabouts)... big fish was something like 45 pounds... 10th place was (I believe) something like 64 pounds...

    2. Day 2 the tourney was over at 3, so we only left 2 hours early.

We would have to had caught damn near 60 pounds of fish in 2 hours, on a slow bite for everyone, when we had only caught the one fish in 2 1/2 days of fishing... figured the odds were definitely not in our favor, so decided to beat the crowd out... we weren't the only ones to cut out early, tho - saw quite a few others leaving before us, and a lot of them were real "players" - the guys who actually know what they are doing....

Sucked leaving early, but still had a blast!
