Here's another of my bluecat adventures from this last year.

I have a 1984 Stratos, great shape, always garaged, smells like catfish, as does my garage. It has great, strong seats, but of course they are plywood backed and after 20+ years they started shedding little pieces of rotted wood all over the boat. I got a replacement for the front at the fishing department of a local chain superstore and thought (and there's my problem - that thinking thing) wow!, only $22! One day last year I was out fishing for blue cats in my usual spot and surrounded by my many admirers (they've seen me in action before) when I have a hit. Now, I'm not sure, but I guess I was expecting another of those monster fish that I actually do catch fairly often, so I reared back and SET that hook. Luckily, I was pretty much facing forward when the plastic seat pan on that terrific deal of a replacement seat failed and dumped me directly into the bottom of the boat and left me staring up into a beautiful sky, listening to the peals of laughter emaninating from the crowd of boaters who were just moments ago silently bored out of their minds with the slow fishing, and holding both hands and the rod straight up because I STILL had the fish on! It was a tough decision whether to play the fish from my present position or to go ahead and stand up and accept the applause so richly deserved for my most recent performance. It seems that not only did I pay only 25% of what I really should have, but that somehow over the years the big catfish were not the only ones who have been putting on a considerable nunber of pounds! And to top it all, that giant catfish wound up only weighing 8 pounds. Setting the hook like that nearly turned the poor thing inside out!:tounge_out: :tounge_out: :tounge_out:
