I am looking at adding another bass rig, I need reel that throw small lures well, looking at a spinning or low profile baitcasting reel. I been looking at the Abu 2005 Low Profile baitcasters and the Abu Cradinel spinning reels, but I leaning towards the low profile. I mosly fish plastic baits, rig texas style.

I haven't had any experience with the low profiles, but I use the Cardinal on my ultra light rod. It has never let me down, but that goes to say for anything Abu I've used. The Cardinal would be a good choice for finesse fishing worms/soft jerkbaits weight free. Fishing a Texas rig, the low profile would probably be a better choice, because that would give you the ability to put on a little extra weight if neccesary.

I've got two of the garcias in the low profile, the 2005 and the 1003. The 2005 is more expensive, but it doesn't have the extra fine tune magnetic control on the side that I like for the lighter baits. I like both reels, the 2005 is just a little smoother, but more adjustments in the 1003. I still prefer the round 4600 series better since that's what I throw all the time for catfish and stripers. I just feel more comfortable with it, and you can get them with the extra magnetic control.
    Good luck on your choice

I've used alot of bait casters and owned enough of them.
Pound for pound, price for price, durability for durability my favorite was and still is the Quantam 1310. I started buying them when they came out.
I've even traded a reel of double the value for one that was 10 years old.
They are simple and they dont have all the bells and whistles.
They are compact and not heavy like some are.
Above all they get the job done.
