well guys pulled an all niter, was gonna go out with gus and fish but we didnt get the 2 of my buddies rounded up in time so we went and got on the river about 9:30-10:00. i threw on a goldfish and tossed him out by the dam and not 30 minutes later A BITE!!! well i sat ther for another 1 minutes before it took the bait and i gave a little tug to make sure the 9/0 oct. cirlce had made its home nice and comfortabul. anyway im reeling this thing in and its not really puting up much of a fight...end up getting it to bank and its a dang softshell turtle!!! we caught 2 more turtles outa that same hole, but now im getting to the good part of this story. we went to a sandpit and got there about 2 in the morning so we set out and sat in the truck to avoid the rain that was starting to fall. well we anchored our poles down to the custom made pole holders that attach to my buddies truck and than we went and did some snoozing. woke up about 4 and this is what we had...A HUGE AND I MEAN HUGE CHANNEL CAT!!! didnt get a weight on him but im guessing around 14-15lbs. what do you all think?

Hell, I can't even guess my own weight half of the time. I think you're
about right though. The solution is Keith's really useful suggestion of that
deer scale. That way, if you catch one as big as Radish's big blue down
south you can say what she weighs with some authority. I'm not sure
that it would fly for a record like that cat surely was, but there would
be less guesswork involved since I think that scale would be accurate
within a few ounces give or take.
