Hooch if it clears up it's blood red and up right now if not i will play in the back yard trying out some new hooks a little R&D
Thats for sure Clay, on the skipjack works pretty good. We have picked up a few using it. Now I just have to find out how to get a steady supply. We fished Monday night and picked up a few 1 flatty and even a striper on a slab of skip. I thought that was interesting.

It must be a good bait for all fish, I had two of those Green Bass trash fish on cut skipjack in Eufaula sat night, one about 7 lb's and the other about 4, thought I had a kicker fish on the 7 pounder.
Agreed, the gar were also caught on the skippys. Them things are a pain in the arse too.

I did make it to Rood Creek this weekend. Pulled in Sunday morning around 7:30 and fished to about noon. Did the yak thing and paddled around a bit checking some depths and such. Got to say hey to a few gators. Seem to be some nice holes or at least it's deeper than I'm use to since I mostly fish the Flint.

We got a few channel cats a did catch a few bring that I used for bait hoping for a flathead or something other than a channel.

No luck. Nice thing about rood creek is there is a lot of places for bank fishing. I might head out one night and do an all night-er from fishing from the bank. My arthritis in my knee makes fishing from the yak more than few hours ... well not too comfortable.

So I might pull up to rood creek again and fish from the picnic area until I fall asleep.
