My anchor winch fell apart on me last Sunday. Do any of you guys have any experience with these? http://www.powerwinch.com:80/Capstans/Capstans.html
I like that you can use about whatever size anchor rode you need. Without being restricted by the length that will fit on a regular anchor winch spool.

Nope just something else to break. I have an anchor retrieval ball. Pulls the anchor plus doubles as a buoy for the anchor rope in case I have to chase a fish.

My anchor wench I found in Iowa. She falls apart quite regularily and the best "fix" is a trip to an inside toilet, (which since she is from Iowa, she's not used to) preferably in a shopping mall. I tried one from Missouri but that one didn't work out nearly as well. She got a lawyer that was not a fisherman, and 1/2 of my boat.

    Just kidding about the boat.

I also recently purchased an anchor retrval ball and love the thing. best $75 bucks I've spent in a long time!!

I would definatly take a look at one of the Balls before shelling out the money for a winch!

I have a Minnkota Deckhand 40 anchor winch that I just love. I've had it 3 yrs. now and no major problems. Sure beats putting anchors out and then retrieving them, especially at my age.

Well, aparantly we'll have the Capstan 1000 by next week.
    Like my dad said...
"When we get ready to pull up anchor, OUR ANCHOR IS GOING HOME WITH US."
Our largest capstan, the Capstan 1000, is a power assisted rope capstan for larger applications with 1000 pound pull power.

That ought to do the trick ya think?

Either the anchor's coming up, or the boat's going under!
