Anchor for Catfishing

    Here is a pic of a wreck anchor that I use, that is used a lot by saltwater anglers fishing underwater structure. The premise behind it is, if it hangs up, the wire tie that is holding the chain to the top will break off, then the anchor will come up bottom first.(The main part of the chain is attached at the bottom of the anchor). This is an older design wreck anchor that I use to use. My new one has bendable rebarb but still has the quick release at the top.


    Lots of anchor rope is the key. I have 200 ft of anchor rope in my boat and in deep swift waters, I have to use almost all of it to hold my 22 ft boat. I piece of chain tied to the anchor is also a good idea. This will help keep the anchor down on the bottom better.
