I'm heaving out to Coloma i the next couple of weeks, and I was wondering if anyone has fished that stretch of the American for trout. I have had very minor success with nightcrawlers with a small egg weight, casting upstream and letting it drift down in the current. I am looking for something with more success. I fish local reservoirs with the standard power eggs and the new gulp power salmon eggs(awesome bait btw) with great success, but not sure if this would work on the American.

Any suggestions on bait and/or rigs to try??

P.S. I'm in the process of learning fly fishing, so this is probably out of the question in the next two weeks or so.
