Never seen one but in the new In-Fisherman they have a rod that is constructed from carrots. Its bright orange and is only $350.95. I think they are called carrot stix...:confused2::smile2:

Not sure of the age but I have seen them before. When my dad bought his current house the prior owner left a bunch of rods and one of them was an old aluminum bastcaster. If I had to guess I would say it was from the 1950s?

when growing up in the 50' and 60's, that's all we had. then the glass poles started coming out in early 60's if my old memory hasn't failed me.

The one I have is a two piece rod, the butt section is aluminum the tip appears to be fiberglass. The sticker on the rod is faded but you can still see the name Master Grip but can't see who it was made by.

Just pulled the reel off that rod and found the rod was made by South Bend.
