landed a 9# blue there this year.first one i have caught in alum!hope the population is on the rise!if so,that could explain the somewhat slow channel action this year.

you'll often find me farther north, near the howard rd. bridge.or depending on the time of year, even farther north.
the best places require some walking.plum rd.and berlin station rd.can be good when the water is down.cheshire rd.bridge area has been under construction this year so i haven't really fished it.if you have a boat, look for large flats near the old creek channel and submerged road beds.

There is a nice spot right off Afrika just past the Dam heading for Chesire it is the first clearing on the Left, the right side is full of stumps so it could be good also. On the left hand side if you can cast to the holes there are some fairly deep ones there.
went out this morning at the just past Chesire all I got was wet LOL. Had I known that it was going to rain I would have gone last night but man the water was extreamly low.
If anyone is interested I will be off the first spot on Afrika Tomorrow Morning about 8-9 will be there for a few hours if the weather is the same as today.
Couple of good hours of fishing but no bites was able to practice casting tho . Tried at the spillway also and didnt catch anything. But any day of fishing is a better day than going to work. By the way it was really nice not to have 50 million boats and Jet ski's around.
Would love to go out. just live about ten minutes form alum. need one more post to drop someone a line so if anyone is interested once the weather warms up let me know.
Ill be hitting Alum a bunch this year also so Ill let you all know when that is. Of course it will have to be at least 55 degrees cause Im a wimp, will be on shore unless I dont have my son in tow then I can go on a boat if offered unless you want a 7 year old buggen ya
Alum Creek lake is probably the best all around inland lake in Ohio. Smallies, musky, saugeyes, cats you name it.......very nice lake ON A WEEK DAY ... not a weekend.... considered one of the cleanest lake in Ohio also......THE CATKING !!!
I really like that lake Clarence... I just wish it was a couple hours closer to me... Pickins are slim down here in the SW corner of Ohio.... We have the rivers, but a boat is almost a give me when fishing the Ohio....and that leaves me out ....:crying: .....THE CATKING !!!
Ill be hitting Alum around 4:30 today be off of Old State rd on the other side of the Dam if anyone is out that way. Ill have my 2 boys probably in the little cove right around the Marina. If you do go there and see a grey windstar with 48 on the back and a Navy sticker Ill be near there.
Got back from fishing and well again Im skunked was using shrimp and hotdogs meh oh well my Bro in Law caught a couple of LM Ba$$ and a good size saugeye. Kids had fun playing in the water.
