"Pontooned" Alum Creek with Mike (Riverrunt) last night from 10:00 PM to 2:30 or so. Fished a handful of coves along the West side of the lake. The action was pretty slow with only a few short (and empty) runs until we fished the back of a particularly deep cove. Only had our bait out for a few minutes when one of my rods went down hard in the rodholder. It was a slim but spunky 3 lb channel. Got another (smaller) channel not too long after that in nearly the same spot. After that we didn't get another bite. Still a beautiful night to be on the water. I was using 8/0 Gamakatsu circle hooks and yes folks those things really hook 'em good. Forgot my camera but Mike got a few pics & might post 'em later. Thanks for the trip Mike.

Good catch. A good night out on the water is better then a bad night watching tv!
