Aluiminum Keel Help/Suggestions....

Discussion in 'Boat Repair Help' started by USCA-RECLAIMED-ACCOUNT-(2), Jul 8, 2009.

  1. Anybody fix thier own aluminum keel before?? I figure I would just epoxy it and throw on a keel guard? Those things are expensive.

It's wore down from beaching and it finally got a small crack in it. Any ideas or home remedies??

Why can't you just take a separate piece of metal and form it to fit, drill the holes seal it and then rivet it to cover the crack? I've never tried it but it is an idea I think. But then again I could be all wrong.
