Went last night. Bad weather forced me off the river early about 11pm. Tornado watches, thunder/lightning, hail. Never been caught by hail before while fishing. Glad I installed my bimini top.
Did well though, 4 flatheads- 11,11,19,36 pounds. Heard from another angler a limbliner had a boat bottom full so I guess they continued to be all night long.
Good nature viewing trip also. Bald eagles flying over, wild hogs along the sandbar, and lots of small ducks all over the river.

Good catch my friend. Glad you got off that river.... Just a miles down from you in McIntosh Co. a tornado hit..... here is part of the clip from the news. Very lucky.......

    Owners of Outboard Rejuvenation, walked
around the devastation and tried to recover little items, such as
    tools and fishing tackle.

They estimated there had been about 60 boats inside the
warehouse when the storm hit. On Sunday afternoon, they lay scattered
and overturned - some crushed into pieces - throughout the industrial
    park.

"There are two or three boats I haven't found yet and two of my boats
landed in the Gateway building," he said.

"One of our new $38,000 boats is laying all the way across the park
now, and I still haven't found the motor from it yet."

He estimated his damages roughly at $5 million.

"We had two (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) boats, and they
were $700,000 a piece," he said. "I also had $5,000 worth of tackle
    that is now scattered about."

Both Marinas in McIntosh Co..... are destroyed. A friend of mine lives at the Ridge Marina in Darien...... His mobile home was tossed with him in it and destroyed. He is ok but banged up some. Just got an email from him using someone elses machine. He has lost everything. There are picking up the salvage now. He attempted to attach some pics he sent but did not work. Will try to get some on a later post.

Bob - glad you had a good trip, and even more that you got through the storms with out any damage or injury.

I'm looking forward to fishing with you soon.

    Smackover,

Yeah, I was lucky. I had actually asked a friend of mine to fish down in the tidewater with me but he couldn't. I went up around Jesup instead. If he would have went, we would have fished downstream of Altamaha Park and been right around where that tornado went through.
I really had a hard time catching bream and didn't really hear any reports. Water levels weren't too high and water temperature was 78 degrees. I only caught about 20 in 6 hours of fishing. A couple of big ones though mixed in. One bluegill about 10 inches and one redbreast around 8 inches. Rest were around 4-6 inches.
