I am looking to get a little chatter on here from cat guys in my area. Looking to start a local group or something and trade b.s. stories and such. Possibly do some fishing adventures. Would like to let the other members know when cats are bitting and when they are not and whats working. Just want your 2 cents thanks

I lived there for a year except on the Minnesota side, fished about every week end. Mostly went for walleyes and cats. I used a 3 way rig but instead of a weight at the bottom I used a 1 oz. jig tipped with a chub or large minnow . On the top hook I also used a chub, minnow or crawler. Normally started up at the dam and bottom bounced while floating back down river. Picked up a lot of cats as well as walleyes this way. Fished a lot of the back waters around the river there too for flatheads and crappie. Good luck up there, looking forward to seeing some pics.

I fish pool 8 mostly and pools 7 & 9 a few times a year. There is a big tournament comming up soon at wildcat landing in Brownsville, MN. The tournament starts at 5 or 6 in the evening (not sure) August 6th it is a 24 hour tournament. They pay the three biggest fish, and the biggest rough fish. We usually see some big flatheads somewhere in the 30 to 50 pound range winning money.

I went camping on the WI side of the Miss below the Dresbach dam Thursday Aug. 6- Saturday Aug. 8. I had no clue about the tournament. Talked to two catmen who were fishing the tourney, they ended up with one 12lb flat. Anybody know the results. We caught some eater channels on worms, minnows, cut mooneye, drum, and gills. And I finally got a flathead worth talking about. She took a live 7" gill at about 11 on Thursday night, did not have a scale but she went 41".

Barathke, Cully, and myself went out for a little drift action below dresbach not far southwest of the float sunday night/monday morning... no more than 15minutes in and i had the biggest fish of my life on... in comparison it made my 45-47lb flathead feel meek... thought my pole was going to break, wasn't scared of the 80lb powerpro breaking, a few minutes into the fight my 3way steel swivel broke.. my guess is either a hogggg of a flat/channel or maybe an old daddy sturgeon... sadface.. oh well, lesson learned to losen the drag not tighten it... laskfjdlaskfjsafd...
