I'm going to put in at Kaw point and watch the air show tomorrow while I fish. Is anyone else going?
You'll be staying on the Kaw then, as the river is closed during the airshow. Have fun.
The river is closed?? Are you serious?
Dale, Here is what Josh posted on it on the MO River thread. I remember last year several people reported getting turned back by the MO Water Patrol
Reason given is safety, pilots are instructed to ditch in the river where possible if they have problems.
Thanks for letting me know guys. I don't think I would want to ditch a plane in the Missouri river even in an emergency. I took a ride on the Blue Angels Fat Albert a couple of years ago. Here's a link to the story I did on it.
How was the air show this year? I was going to go but decided to go fishing instead
Not very crowded, good seats, expensive food, perfect temp, not too hot. Overall - very pleased with airshow and the TRANSPORTATION WAS GREAT! Shuttled from Briarcliff center down to airshow and back, smooth.
That seems to be the theme of about everything now, expensive beer, food, tickets ect. But I am glad that everything was great. Sounds like I missed a good time
