Air filter

    WONDER WHY MERCURY DID NOT SEE FIT TO USE AN AIR FILTER ON MY2000 90 HP 4 STROKE? THOUGHTS?

    Good morning, I don't think I've ever seen one used on any marine application.

    It would be my best assumption that due to the fact that they are used "over water" that there won't be any dust, Hence no need to filter:roll_eyes:

    I've never seen a filter either. It should have intake screens though. This will trap anything big enough to damage anything. I wonder what the engine cowls would look like if they had to incorporate an air filter. Here's mine LOL just kidding had to do it. ha ha

    thanks again. i just thought how strange, no intake filter. i looked at your filter it was funny. mine has the screen also.
