Next time one of you brothers catch a carp or a sucker simply try this. Fillet the meat off after scaleing. Cut into 1 inch chuncks. put them into your beer fridge covered for a week to age them a bit. They should be pretty fishy by that time, "hence the beer fridge, momma don't like ageing fish."
