AGE OF CATFISH ?

    how does one guess or estimate the age of a channel cat ?

    I dont know how to get the exact age but i know with bass when they get old their eyes bug out. we caught 4 channels tonight and the biggest was 7.2 and its eyes was bugged out. the other 3 were normal

    This is from a study in kansas, dont ask the formula but you can look for youselfs and see if you can make heads or tails of it...
    all of this depends on conditions as well..

    thanks, so that 11 punder my buddy caught was at least 10 years old.

    Yup thats what it looks like , but keep in mind that different water will afect the grow rate..:wink:
