add on outboard tachometer

    i am wanting to put a tach on my 85hp force so i can see what the motor is really doing when i am swapping props around.. where can a guy find something like that? thanks adam

    If your Force is anything like an Evinrude, there should all ready be a wire ran from the motor to the control box. All you need to do is buy a tach which will work with your motor, mount it, run a hot wire, a ground, and the wire from the tach. Most modern tachs fit multiple applications, but you need to know, I believe they call it, the pulses. 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12.

    I put a "Tiny Tach" on my Evinrude 40. Just mounted it to the tiller handle.

    You will need a tach that is designed to run on a force because I think it runs on a 20 pulse which no other engine has a charging system like a force.
