I picked one of these up off e-bay this winter, and have another coming from a BOC member. I really like these reels so far for flathead on rivers. The lever drag lets you use it as an adjustable tension clicker in current and still get the brakes on when a good one runs for a logjam. I have a couple Penn's that are tanks for fishing the heavy brush with short casts from a boat, but the Abu beats them hands down for longer more accurate casts. I run 40 or 50lb Big Game Solar on them. It is nice to have a bigger reel that handles the heavy line and weights yet still casts as good as my 6500's

I've got one of those reels, but, haven't spooled it up and used it.. Maybe later this year..
I've been enjoying my 7000's that I've put bearings and carbon drags in,, They do cast nicely!!
