For those who have used them, or know a little about them, which Ambassadeur Reels are best? The C3 series, big game, or pro rocket. I almost bought a 7000iC3 yesterday but noticed it was made in China, not Sweden. Does this make a difference? Thanks in advance for any help.

All of those ABUs you mentioned are good. The 7000 series and Rocket might be used for bigger fish.

If it does not say MADE IN SWEDEN, don't but it.

I own an Abu Garcia 7000c3. without a doubt this is the best catfishing reel I ever owned. Make sure it does say! Made In Sweden, not China!! Quality matters when I shop for fishing reel.:smile2:

It's not the power, it's the lack of line capacity. By the time I get finished picking out the backlashes, I don't have any line left to fish with, LMAO!!!!!!!

I own two Big Game 7001HS,a Big Game 7000HSN,and a Big Game 9000.
The 7000HSN(narrow) seems to be my favorite.
    All are gold series.

Nope not to me. I'll put my china made 7000ic3 up against an older sweden reel. The ic3 is a far better reel then the older ones. As far as a difference from the pro rocket and the ic3 there is none except for color and price.

look at the ABU website. They have a new reel called the 7000 SYNCRO it sounds really cool with lever drag and new stuff. I think i might try one.

I have the old 7000 C3, and I don't have any complaints. It cast well and I have brought alot fish in on it. The new 7000 made in china I'm not familar with. I sure hope the quality stays there that Abu Garcia is known for.

as far as i have heard the newer abu's are only assembled in china, all the parts are still made in sweden, ive heard this a few times not sure if its 100% accurate though, i have an old 7000c3 and a new 700ic3 which does seem a lot smoother, but both are good reels

I like the 6000 series and above, as long as they have a bait clicker, which they do. I have some friends that have some of the 7000 series reels and thet really like them. I have some 6500 C3 and they have held up real well.

Look at the box it says (ENGINEERED IN SWEDEN) only a hand full of reels are still made there. Nothing you would use for catfishing is made there. The reels still have good quality. They haven't been made there for a long time.

I have 6000's, 6500's, 7000's they all say made in Sweden. The RCN60HC'S that I have I'm not sure, but I'm going to look.
