Fished today and broke one of my best rods. I have had it since 1993. It's a Abu Garcia Royal Vectran 7 rod. 7' medium action. Outfished any rod I own for drifting. Would love to find another one. Bad part was broke it on a stump. Felt like I lost my best friend.

That sucks brother, I would check on ebay and other auction sites. You may be able to find another one.

I know how you feel. It took me 10 years to find a replacement rod.

I know exactly how you feel, I have broken two in my lifetime. It will happen every now and then. Sorry to hear about your loss, but now you have a good excuse to buy a new one. Good fishin', Jack.

Thanks for all the support. If anyone runs across one of these rods, let me know. I believe the rod came out around 95-96. I had just bought 3 Silstar Catfishmaster rods and would not trade them for anything. The cost was only $20 a piece. Guess I'll see how much abuse they take week after week. Did look at the Tiger rods but seemed to stiff for drifting, but I know a lot of people use them drifting. I prefer a little more limber rod. Thanks again.

I broke a rod 3 weeks ago.Funny how you get such a rush reeling a big fish in then a rod breaks or line snaps and your feelings do a 360 and your down in a instant.Thats fishing sometimes.

I just bought 5 Silstar Catfishmaster rods for $20 a piece. They have great back-bone and a fast or limber tip. Big fish on them so far has been 28lbs.
