I like the plane jane 6000 that you can get anywere. the c3 doesent impress me enough to see paying that mutch more. id rather find a cheep 6000 and throw in the carbotex drag. the bcx i belive are the china made el cheepo.

Kenny, you are the man, the reason I ask, because I have a chance to be 2 of the BCX for $60 bucks or 2 C3 for 475 bucks, really nice.

Some penns have bigger gears and stuff , But that does'nt make them any better,Because some ABU'S have the solid brass gears and better drags now than they ever had.and stand right beside them if not ahead. IMHO:wink:

Whats up Kevin,This Reel below:embarassed: This is what shape they came in. Tell your Friend to treat it like a baby, because after a few large fish the same thing might happen to his.

Yeah my son ordered 2 of them Thru EBay and all he got was 1 of the reels came with the handle and drag wheel all loose and the nut that you tighten the handle with was missing, level wind got stuck to one side.Gears inside were messed up,You would not have believed it Man.He tried to get a refund ,But it didn't pan out( over seas seller:angry:) the second one here is starting to come apart on him now as he reels in; the gears slip sometimes. He got took bad.He ordered 3000yrds of 30#PLine and never got it either:eek:oooh:Thats why I will not buy any equipment online;Has to be NEW:wink:

sorry to hear about your bad ebay experence kenny. I have had pretty good luck with ebay, you have to look at the feedback % were the item is shipping cost read neg feedback to see why and if they take pay pal. pay will insure your purchace up to $1000 I believe for free.

the roddy on the other hand is JUNK from what ive read on here and is not made by penn its made by master and they some how got penns name on it.

CatHunter; Yeah,I heard that Penn give that reel to them and maybe other models to build, My son bought this stuff and got took.

Thru PayPal; I'll buy small stuff like sterling silver penants/charms of catfish , dragon flies , crawfish and stuff like that, which I'm going to inlay into the Grips on a rod pretty soon. But when it comes to my fishing equipment, I'd rather have the manufactures warranty on the product:wink:

bcx's are junk. They should'nt be allowed to wear the abu name badge. It speaks for itself to see that they're sold in blister packs in the fishing isle. While the real abu's are in the locked cabinet.....

As with Kevin, i've also had great luck on E-Bay. I've bought many old Mitchell reels for my collection and I haven't been taken yet. That doesn't say the i'll get bit in the future.
