any thoughts on whether the thumb bar casting mechanism on the 6600 series might be weaker or stronger (under normal use) than the 6500 series' push button type spool release? i have a 6500 c3 and a 6600 d6 and they're both very nice reels.
the 6500 has never given me a problem, the 6600's clicker screw wasn't tightened when i recieved it (new off ebay) and the side plate is just the slightest bit loose, the one with the mag brake adjustment on it. also the mag brake makes noise when i reel for a while, like when spooling up some new line. is that normal?

but back to the thumb bar, does it weaken the reel at all?

thank's in advance for all replies!

Its not weeker, the tumb bar is design for one hand casting.
