Well Monday was my birthday, with the money I received, I went to Bass Pro.
I picked up two 6500C3; I can tell they are real nice reels.

I can not wait to us them.

Congrats on the new reel, they are the preferred reel of the BOC. I don't use them, but I have heard nothing bad

    Naw, not my wisdom.
It was the wisdom of the BOC , I read a lot here, and I thank the BOC for the input.
And you for the kind words

Congrats Steve on your new reel. I have the same reel on my Christmas list. I have read alot of reviews on here and it sure gets alot of votes for dependability.

Spent two years on the ms river with 6500s before stepping up to their big brother, the 7000. They are excellent reels for almost any application. Only problems i've had with them was the paddles on the handles became loose and that was in part due to reeling in heavy weights all the time. The reels themselves were still like new...

Those are the best you can get for the casting distance i'll say. one recommendation is calling your local baitshop or reelrepair shop and asking if they have a power handle conversion. I got one at my shop for 12.99, though they are online for higher, because I pulled in a 35lber with the normal handle off of a maxed out cast and was really unsatisfied with the wenching power. caught a fish on it the very next day with the conversion and couldn't have been more satisfied. Nice job on the selection!
