Abu 6500 c casting upgrades?

    What upgrades can I put an my 6500c to make it cast farther?

    15lb trilene with a 14ft alpha rod but im getting a nice 12 foot rod

    They make a ball bearing worm gear. it has 2 bearings instead of plastic bushings. an Idler with ball bearings The stock idler gear that connects the worm gear to the spool is a plastic gear mounted to a brass post. Ball bearings in your spool or side covers. (if not already there), bearing I.A.R.(instant anti-reverse) I think your reel has 3 bearings in it already. you just need the worm gear and shield, and the bearing idler. Ceramic pawl is recommended with this set-up too. don't assume there is bearings in both sides of your spool though. sometimes they only put bearings in one side and a bushing in the other.
