just wanted to share the goldfish i caught a couple days ago.
july 24th- I went to a like I like to fish for bass. it is part of a large chain of lakes that we call the le homme deiu chain. I was fishing on a peir surrounded by lily pads and I was casting a slug go. then I noticed a bright orange thing floating on the surface about 5 feet away it was a dead gold fish. and there was one swimming below it!!! I quickly tied on a smaller hook and put on 2 kernals of corn and made a cast toward the fish.
suprisingly it took it and I landed it and took this pic. it was a really fat one.

eventually I snagged the dead one.

I brought both of them home and buried the dead one. the live one is swimming in my fish tank right now. hapily eating meal worms

catmanjake, Those are nice Goldfish! It is not uncommom to catch them here on the Potomac River in D.C. from time to time. The possibility that they could survive once released into the wild is GOOD. They are very adaptive and also make GREAT Bait for the Big Catfish.

Pretty cool i`ve seen them swimming in farm ponds before. someone must have been using them for bait or just turned them loose in there. I caught a 6 lb largemouth bass once while fishing for catfish on get this CHICKEN LIVERS. it must have been one hungry fish i guess.

Sweet catch. when my dad moved into his house there was one somone let go in the pond. it was one of the kind with the big crazy fan tails you see at the pet store. We never did catch that thing before it finally went belly up.....
