This is a magic time of year. A time to believe things can happen that normally would be scoffed at and ridiculed for their unbelievability.

My example occurred about 10 days ago. While riding around my deer hunting area with the farm owner, the following words were honestly spoken by him. "Tom, your awful quiet today."

Okay, get back up off the floor and quit rolling your eyes, it's true!!!!
Perhaps some alcohol was involved, but not nearly enough to have any cause or effect to the above statement. No, I did not have a tape recorder going at the time, as this occurred out of the blue and with no warning or further explanation. I wanted to relate to him that I simply had nothing to say, but in the spirit of that moment, I remained silent.

sometimes quite is what is called for..... to many times we all talk more than we listen. its the silence in between statements that can teach or tell us the most.

You will have to somehow convince him you are going to fish for them in Florida, before he will come out of his cave

Come on Kutter show'em you got what it takes....we'll launch at Columbia Bottoms, motor down to the Chain of Rocks, go over it and fish below. You already said you've caught a nice Walleye there, maybe you'll catch some more...:wink:

Maybe I can make it easier for him and not take the trip over the chain of Rocks....how about south of L&D 25, walleye fishing is pretty good there and you only have to travel 300 or so yds from the ramp, the trip wouldn't be nearly as long or cold....:smile2::wink:

It can be fun, gotta dress really warm unless you can catch one of those few warms days in Jan and Feb. There's one thing about Walleye they are the most finicky fish you can go for....you can see hundreds stacked up on your fish finder, one day you could catch them on a bare hook, the next you'll need hand grenades to get one.

my dad used to fish for em in canada a lot but that is a completely different body of water up there.

Oh so true, It's hard to find someone willing to go out in the middle of the winter fishing and I don't relish the idea of going out by myself, as I did when I was younger.
